Stephen joined the firm in 1987 after deciding that Law was far more rewarding than sitting on a header in 40 degree heat. Stephen is a Director in the Commercial Litigation team and brings 30 years experience in practice from work in Darwin, Sydney and Adelaide.
He has acted for national and international companies, small and large business, and individuals in a wide range of law. Stephen represents three Native Title Claim Groups and has developed numerous precedent agreements between these groups and mining and petroleum companies. He has an active role in Human Rights matters and is a pro-bono adviser to the Foreign Prisoner Support Service. Stephen has represented a number of Australians detained overseas, including David Hicks. Stephen has been a regular guest lecturer at Universities and legal conferences.
Between trips north for Native Title matters and battling for our clients’ rights, Stephen delights in spending time with his family and their many and varied house guests.
